Violent children: warning signs?
I can't think of anything as horrible as this 12-year-old boy accused of killing a toddler with a bat. Twelve years old!
The mother is quoted as saying that her son is not a violent child, but children don't just erupt in such uncontrolled anger suddenly. There are usually warning signs.

My experience working in court has been that children do give signs. But parents will not accept those signs for what they are. Parents tend to explain things away.
An aggressive child MUST get treatment.
These kids show the signs..acting up in school, beating up their classmates, disrespecting their parents..its getting worse and worse. Parents are busier, have to work harder and harder to make ends meet, so there is less time at home. I'm so glad I don't have kids. I wanted them I think at one point, but when I see things like this..it frightens me. It's a crapshoot..
And what do you do with that kid? He beat a baby with a baseball bat?? Can you rehabilitate that kid? I doubt it. It's very sad...He'll be in jail, get violated in who knows how many ways, turn into even more of an animal, than get released onto us. Then he'll do it again to someone else..It will never end. I hate to say it, but he should just be put down, he will Never be a productive member of society, never..
This story is incredibly sad. I feel parents are to blame. we get so caught up in wanting things like WII's and Hannah Montana tickets for our children that we spend long hours at work or have multiple jobs so we can provide these silly things to our children when what we really need to do is take time out to teach our children the golden rule and how to love one another. Society has stopped raising the children and provided electronic babysitters out there like the TV and Game boy. Why are we having children if we don't want to take the time to raise them into respectable human beings. This all makes me want to scoop up my kids and move somewhere less progressive so my kids playground is what God provided. Nature.
I'm going to give mom the benefit of the doubt for making those stupid comments, by saying she is probably suffering from an incredible amount of shock. That being said, this enabling attitude of some parents leaves no room for accountability in their children.
It's very sad.But one moment, just a singular moment, these people (relatives)thought about this little baby who had her life interrupted? What about her rights?
I am horrified that this child is capable of such brutal violence. My youngest sibling was born when I was 12 years old, and I guarantee, I KNEW to be gentle with the baby. At 12, they are not little kids and are aware of consequences.
This child MUST have shown some signs that went ignored. They should never have trusted him with a baby.
This is crazy and horrifying.
