Ho-hum about mass killings?

You know our priorities are all mixed up when this story on the Oklahoma shooting that killed eight people was carried inside The Miami Herald. Have these mass murders become so commonplace that we are ho-hum about them?

I don't know why you would think that the Herald coverage is indicative of how the rest of the country feels.

This is horrific and horrible. People shot down by a deeply disturned youth for no reason whatsoever. HORRIBLE!

The Herald is following the disspointing trend in today's media -- where all papers are carrying stories about celebrities and their drunken exploits.

I know that the reality of our times can be difficult to face -- but we need to face them and deal with them. We gain nothing by pretending that all that matters is which bimbo is drunk this week.

The Herald is no longer something that we take seriously as a source of news.

To "News Hound: by 'drunken bimbo' I assume you are referring to the celebrity who also shaved her head bald.

This particular case is about a woman who is ILL with bipolar disorder. Mental illness is an illness, not a choice. Read the latest information on mental illnesses and stop stigma- do not perpetuate it.
