Exxon, Chevron, FPL -- is there a pattern?

Despite my family's heroic efforts, our electric bill keeps inching up -- even as we use fewer kilowatts per hour. The explanation: The cost of fuel has skyrocketed.
Yeah, right.
Now a story about FPL's whopping 50-plus percent increase in profits makes me wonder about that excuse. If costs are increasing, wouldn't profits suffer? Or, are we bearing all the burden while a few make lots and lots of money?

I agree ..... of course there is a pattern the rich get richer and poor get poorer. We just sit back and allow these big companies to keep raising the prices, while we can barely pay our electric bills. I know people who have lower car payments than their FPL bill! What a shame.Ours has more than doubled.

Sick! Most of us are dealing with an electric bill that requires a part time job while thier profits jump 54%. I challenge them to spread the wealth. Monopoly, monopoly, monopoly.

It really is ridiculous. As the average American worker struggles to make ends meet, the big energy, power and utility companies are raking in billions. How much longer can the average Joe shoulder this load? Things are way out of whack.

The FPL utility company is not the same thing as FPL Group, which recorded the huge profits. You pay your power bill to the FPL utility company, which is regulated. FPL Group's profits mainly came from FPL Energy, which has absolutely nothing to do with your power bill. At least get your facts right before ripping a company.

Sounds like someone really knows their FPL and thrives in it. Even bashes their own customer on a friendly blog with, "get your facts straight." I won't hope nothing bad for you my little friend swimming in a pool of money. For all we know, this is who the, "Bob," from FPL is really like.
