Pretty soon they'll have classes in the broom closet

The news from Tallahassee is that there will be more cuts to the schools' budget. If this does happen, I hope the powers that be leave the classrooms alone and look at the administrative costs. From talking to teachers, students and my own children, I know the situation is pretty bare bones right now.
And we claim we support education!
When will our elected officials -- and the populace -- understand that spending on education is the best investment we can make in the future?

You can bet your last dollar that the cuts will not come in the "administrative" areas of MDCPS -- those SUV's are crucial to education. The cuts will come at the expense of the EDUCATORS and the STUDENTS.

Thank the Bush brothers for the state we are in -- test the heck out of the kids (tests which mean NOTHING) and then take money away....

God help us all!

Do away with the school district police and save millions! Dade County Public Schools is only one of three counties in Florida to have their own police department. eliminate those job, contract with local law enforcement like the rest of the state, and save millions in payroll, equipment, and special risk retirement. Don't blame the Bush brother after all it was not them who put Rudy Crew in power. We need strong leadership, real one.

No need to worry about over crowded classrooms. People are moving away to Georgia.
