Don't Tase me, bro

A Brevard County student got tased twice when he refused to stop fighting in school. Is that two times too much? I really can't tell from the initial reporting.
However, it seems that reports of police using Taser guns are on the rise. Hardly a week goes by without some story on it. I wonder if it's actually true that they're being used more -- or simply that we're reporting on them more. Mayber Tasers have become the media's story du jour.

Recently, we have had the tragic loss of three police officers in our community. I am not condoning "police abuse" at all but I do believe that our officers need to make sure to protect themselves at all costs.

In the last week, there was a story about some guys that tried to run down police officers with their vehicle and they were shot dead. The public outcry because these two men did have a weapon was all over the news. I disagree, they DID have a weapon - their car.

When you purposely go after a police officer with your car, you can expect a quick and decisive response.

We cannot forget that the police protect US from these types of individuals. We need to allow them to protect themselves so they can continue to keep the peace. If this means tasering hoodlums, then so be it.

God bless them and protect them.
