Simpson cancelled: About time!

Rupert Murdoch pulled the plug on the Simpson TV special/book that would have featured O.J. talking about his ex-wife's murder and how he would've done it had he been of that bent. (Yeah, right.)
What took you so long, guy?!
It's incredibly disgusting that the project got off the ground in the first place. You have to wonder what publisher Regan was thinking when she decided to fork out so much money and bring the book to print. Are these people so anxious to make a buck?

I agree with you.

However, in today's climate, it seems that society has mistaken "notoriety" with "popularity" -- it doesn't matter what you do to become well known - people will clamor to get an autograph. I recently saw a news bit on Michael Jackson (well-known child molester and extremely weird person) and the tons of people yelling his name and wanting his autograph. I, myself, would put as much distance as possible between myself and the disfigured pop performer.

OJ Simpson is in a category all by himself - he got away with murder. He has done nothing to convince anyone of his innocence since his trial - by the way, is he still paying private eyes to find the "real culprit"?????

He should save his money -- he sees that person every time he looks in a mirror.

We need to draw the line between being "well known" and being a "celebrity" -- Kevin Federline has (very few) fans and he has the same artistic talent as the guy who bags my groceries. One difference, the grocery guy is likeable.

OJ Simpson should shut up and disappear. He should realize that most Americans know what he did and detest him. He will never be "popular" again.

Murdoch and Regan are no better than those loser fans that they tried to take advantage of -- they cannot see the difference between "notorious" and "famous".

I really don't care what anyone thinks about anything. All I know is that a few people were able to get the book and the interview with OJ Simpson censored. I TOTALLY DISAGREE! Americans have already made up thier minds on OJ's guilt or innocents, so why not allow the book to come out. I for one would like to read the book, but once again the white power structure dictates what we as Americans can and can not see, hear or read. I think that this is worst than anything Simpson could have said in the book. The real facts will some day come out. I hope the Simpson children come out with their own book about what they heard the night of the murders. Strangely enough niether OJ or the Browns have even entertained letting the kids tell their story. After all they are 19 & 21 and the only living witness of that fatefull night. Instead all I hear is the injustice and pain that the book might cause the Brown & Goldman families yet very little about how this might affect these children who lost their Mom. Perhaps the truth about Nicole's sexual escapades, drug use and lack of morals is still to painfull for even them. Let's face it, for the truth to come out we would get a real glimps into the life style of Nicole Simpson and Faye Resnick. We'd probably come away with more questions than answers. And why hasn't Faye explained her role in Nicole drug addiction? Why did Faye run and hide out in rehab before Nicole's body had grown cold? What did she know that she is not telling? Why did Sidney say that it was not her father's voice she heard? Why was Sidney not put on the witness stand? Why haven't the kids now adults attempted to reestablish a relationship with the Browns? If the kid felt their father was guilty why would they not come out with a book of their own that would surely make them millions? Perhaps it is because anything they would have to say would not be accepted by the white power structure that has so gracefully censored the American public from reading the book "If I Did It". No matter how you feel about OJ this is only the beginning. What will be the next thing to be censored? Will we deny the adult public adult films? Will we begin to deny the public "R" rated films because a small group of people disagree with it content? What is next? This is a slippery slope we have embarked apon. I would encourage anyone with copies of the book to read it, share it, and sell it, over and over again. Awe Hell this would be a great rental market. Since copyright law prevents one from reproducing and selling it then rent excerpts or rent the book for a fee. Just don't roll over and allow censorship.
