If there is one organization that deserves to be funded even in these difficult times, it's certainly the Children's Trust. I've seen first-hand the organization's accomplishments. It's an investment in the future.

I agree 100%. Like I said, The Children's Trust is life's miracle for children. Without the Trust thousands of children will suffer. People make comments about "if you can't afford children, don't have them" Well, life sure does change daily, one day you could be a millionaire and the next day broke....children are our future and who ever doesnt understand that should NEVER have children. Keeping the Trust is the best investment anyone could give.
No matter what else is happening in the economy, tax structure, jobs, etc., the Children's Trust is a "must have." We cannot cut corners on developing, educating, and guiding our children now and then expect a crime-free, drug-free, pregnancy-free, and ready-to-work population down the road. It's a much wiser and cheaper investment at the front end that can have a huge impact on the quality of life in Miami-Dade for everyone.

I worked for The Children's Trust for about 1 year and half, yes, it has nice programs, but right now, we are facing economic problems that are going to get worst, with rising oil prices. Also, by voting Yes for this, people don't realize that this will be automatic, they will not have a choice 7 years down the road. My opinion, Vote NO, cause before a Promotion and Prevention Programs, and After School Programs, comes Food and Shelter for a home. Don't let yourselves be deceived by the opinions of politicians. Ask yourselves this questions, where was The Children's Trust, 6 years ago?
To the anonymous who said that he worked for The Children's Trust 1 year and half ago. My name is D. Martinez, and I worked for The Children's Trust, these folks are hard worker individuals. I know cause I worked with them, in the IT Department. Even though we are facing economic difficulties, there's most be some light in the days of darkness. Vote YES....Remember, what our Lord Jesus Christ said: "Mark 10:14,"When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these."
I definitely support the Children's Trust 100%. There is no question whether we should vote YES to make it a permanent ... a homeowner paying $61 avg to help the communities children is not going to drastically change one's economic situation. That is what we spend to eat out for a family. Let's be more giving and we will get more in return. Children our the future and we must invest in their growth and guidance. It is a definite YES and I will campaign for it as much as possible.

I am one of the many single mothers that benefits from the afterschool program Urgent Inc., sponsored by Children's Trust. There was a time that I was able to afford to have my children in one of those well known, prestigious "high quality" children care organizations, but I have never been as happy with the quality of care and range of activities that my children have experienced in this free program. Through this program there are not only being well supervised, but they are also learning about different cultures, nutrition, self discipline and to care and respect others. Please vote YES for the Children's Trust. It is much better to give a little today to help guide our children into becoming productive citizens than to have to pay a lot more later because of the lack of proper supervision, positive reinforcement, guidance and genuine quality care that our children receive from the Children's Trust (Urgent Inc.)

I agree 100% also. The children have funded many programs. For instance, health Connect in ours schools has been a key component in my child school.I also noticed the many changes in other kids that attent their too. I vote yes for Children's Trust.

I will definitely vote regardng the Trust. Why? regardless of past performance, I would never, ever, vote to authorize any organization on an indefinite basis. Let them go for reauthorization every six years, and let the voters decide. This will keep them honest.

It sounds as if you are accusing The Children's Trust of being dishonest.(this will keep them honest) If that is the case, let's hear it. As for The Trust being reauthorized every 6 years, talk to the governor and the state legislature, they created the Children's Services Councel. the facts are that The Children's Trust helps thousands of disadvantaged and disabled children every year. the pricetag is approx $61 per year for the average home in Miami Dade County. The reauthorization campaign money came from donations from citizens who are worried that without organizations like The Children's Trust, the future of Miami Dade youth will suffer.
