Enough already -- goodbye, Anna Nicole

Three weeks of constant updates about Anna Nicole Smith is about as low as the media can go. Now we have live coverage of her funeral escort. Isn't there a war in Iraq? In Afghanistan? Aren't Iran and North Korea threatening our way of life?
Media outlets -- and I obviously (and happily) work for one of those companies -- say they are offering the news their audiences want, fluff and celebrity stuff. I wonder how true that is. Plenty of people I know say they're completely turned off by the coverage and just switch channels or turn the page.
Are we appealing to the lowest common denominator or actually performing a public service called entertainment?
If any good will come from Anna Nicole's spectacle, perhaps it might be that people will rush over to their attorneys to draft a will, including detail instructions about burial.

It's all just so incredibly sad. I hope that all this coverage has given people second thoughts about updating their wills. All this could have been avoided had she done that. And if any of this was too much for you, I'm quite certain you have 200 other channels available to you at the touch of a button.

At last Anna is where she should have been three weeks ago, buried alongside her son. Rest in peace Anna.
I can only pray that all of these people who claim to love Anna, leave her and her son Daniel alone. Especially, Daniel's father, whom after being an absentee father for the last nineteen years, now what to have his "son's" body exhumed and buried near him in Texas. This is hypocrisy at it's best. This man never cared enought to be part of Daniel's life, and now that he's gone he wants him buried near him? He is nothing but a leach, and a scum bag, who like the majority of these people is trying to benefit financially one way or another out of this this horrible event.
Finally, all of these "men" who claim to be Danniellyn's father need to "shut up and put up" and submit to a DNA test, so that this little girl can be raised by her biogical father. Unfortunaly, this little girl will always wonder if she's truly loved because of who she is or because of what she represents: MONEY.
Anna, you are finally home, and free to spread your angel wings alonside the only person who truly ever loved you, and whom you truly ever fully trusted, your son Daniel.
Between the two of you, you guys can now watch over this poor little girl, who's been left on this earth alone, to continue thru this journey we call life.
God Bless you both, rest in peace.
Keep smiling, until we meet again my friend

I for one would rather hear about the Life Death & Love of a Woman for her dead son and new child child than have to hear about the Soldiers that are loseing their lives for no good cause at all Thank-You .. Our Soldiers should be at home with their families !! So if all you want to hear about is how all these young men and women are dieing for nothing .. then you just do that .. and while your at it get a sign and walk the Hwy telling Bush to get over himself and bring the boys home !!

What's up with "Entertainment Tonight and The Insider's" daily, biased, one-sided "Howard K. Stern Love Fests". They just devoted one whole hour to spinning Howard Stern's side of the funeral
story...selectively reporting only that Anna's mom was booed, when Howard was loudly booed as well! Do they think viewers are stupid? That we can't tell a lie (or an enabling scumbag) when we see one? Even their voice-overs don't match the video we're watching...but they keep cranking out daily, over-the-top, over-acted stories that have NO CONNECTION WITH THE TRUTH! What's up with that? Even if TV tabloids are held to a different "journalistic" standard in terms of style... isn't the public entitled to at least an attempt at truthful, accurate, objective reporting?

I can't believe what I am reading! The previous posts are all caught up in the melodrama of this womans's death.

It is the truth that Anna Nicole Smith was (at best) a low tier "celebrity" ala Paris Hilton. The saying is "famous for being famous." She had no real talent and led a very sleezy and pathetic (and short) life.

The news media decided to cover this story like a blanket and pretended that she may have been somehow similar to the late Marilyn Monroe. She was (at best) a pathetic trailer park version of Ms. Monroe.

She is now dead - and that is a sad thing. However, many people die every day and their funerals are not followed by a ton of reporters and helicopters.

Another thought - maybe the reason that her mother and her ex-husband want the bodies of Anna and her son in the United States is so that they can be tested. Does any one else think that it's odd that the cling-on Stern was with both of them when they died? Could he have provided the over-dose to both, hoping to inherit the old man's money?

This story isn't over yet. I just don't care what the outcome is and would rather not see it on the evening news.

Another thought -- the only person happy about all this press coverage is that diaper wearing astrounat! Anna's death took the press of her back!

The media prints and publishes what people want to hear and know. That is what this country has become. I myself feel bad for her. You dont know how you'll act until someone you love dies. Alot of people are on prescription drugs when they lose a loved one. And as far as her so called loved ones where was they when she needed them. Im glad she has finally laid to rest next to her son. And as far as the last anonymous messaged left. This is for you(Lets not forget the sleezy happy birthday song Marilyn Monroe sang to JFK. She had no real talent and led very short sleezy life and (short)life).

...and it is still not over!

"If any good will come from Anna Nicole's spectacle, perhaps it might be that people will rush over to their attorneys to draft a will, including detail instructions about burial."

That is about the only good that may come from this.
