Super Bowl duds

OK, I didn't care that much about the Super Bowl game, though I watched it start to finish and cheered for the Colts because I empathize with the Indianapolis coach. What interested me were the ads. When you're paying $2.6 million, they better be GOOD.
I thought that they were, by and large, duds. (I liked the Bud and Doritos ads.) Is it possible that we keep expecting more every year? Have we as viewers raised the bar so high that it takes a miracle to wow us? And why is it that the beer commercials tend to be so much better than the rest? For instance, the one on the nuts as mid-afternoon snack was pretty awful. Robert Goulet? Half the people I was watching the bowl with had no idea who he was.
The Herald is taking a vote at and I'm really curious to see what the public thought.

The adds were horrible! Robert Goullet looked scary with the black hair, eyebrows and mustache!

The worst was the Federline spot - like he needs another 15 minutes?!

Also, Prince and his symbol for a name would have probably done better if, say, he was the halftime show for a game in the 1980's -- his time came and went.

Same for Billy Joel.

The game was great - and the outcome was what I hoped for -- AFC is OUR conference, you know. Also, it would be a sin to see Brian Griese get ANOTHER Superbowl ring - for sitting bench - when the GREAT Dan Marino has a naked finger. It would just not be right.

Robert Goulet's commercial was the funniest and the best.

In your business you should know who Robert Goulet is. Besides, even with your dyed hair you look old enough to be his grandmother!!

Florida votes!! Isn’t that how we ended up with Bush?
