The Sean Taylor I knew

I delivered the bad news to my eldest son very early this morning: Sean Taylor had died. They had played football together at Gulliver and had kept up the friendship, speaking sporadically through Sean's rise in the athletic world.
Those who have blogged and written derogatory comments about Sean didn't know him. The Sean I met many times as a teenager was respectful, well-mannered and even soft-spoken. Yes, he was very intense on the field, but he was a good kid.
I feel so badly for his parents and his young family.

What a senseless way to end a young life. My heart goes out to his family, friends and fans.

It is heartbreaking.

i dont know why people think that alfie is ana's son that played with sean taylor because that is incorrect. Ana does not have any sons named Alfie

The real focus now is on Sean's beautiful baby girl "Jackie" and on his family and how they pull together to lay Sean to rest and that others learn to value life because it is precious!!! We only get one life live. Doesn't matter if you knew him personally or not the fact that an innocent life was taken away before he really got to see his child grow up really breakes my heart. To youth and star atheletes everywhere please take heed and live everyday as if it's your last. Have no regrets. God bless and keep the family of "Sean Taylor" the person not the player...

To the Taylor Family:

I am a 46 year old mother of a beautiful 11 year old daughter. My heart goes out to the Taylor family and friends. I feel like I lost a son in Sean. Remember God is love. Only prayer will get you through this terrible time. Learn to forgive and God will handle the rest.

I met Sean just briefly at a pro bowl practice in Hawaii. He took more time than most players to sign autographs and talk to fans. He was very nice and soft spoken. He really seemed to be enjoying the moment and soaking it all in. He was such a young talented guy and this is such a tragedy for his family and most importantly his parents, daughter and girlfriend. May he rest in peace.

its a sad day for all who just loved sean taylor like my self i thought i would never see this happen to not only a football player but a mentor to myself a role model and a idol sean was one and only favorite player i watched him since high school at gulliver and at um and never released my eye on him cause he was a good player there would not be a replacement for this tragedy a life has been lost forever but sean is still he looking down on us to comfort us not to cry but remember him as one of the dominent player that played that position i will remember him as a beast cause thats how good he was. Rest in Peace sean michael taylor 4/1/1983-11/27/2007 you will never be forgotten "johnny"one of your number 1 fans no other player i watched but u sean rip u will be miss retire number 26 at um and retire number 21 for the redskins.no other player should wear those numbers for those teams cause there would not be another sean taylor playing again because of a senseless crime that took his life for no reason.

As a Washington DC resident and Redskin Fan I plead with that peason in Florida that knows who took that little girls DADDY from her at such a young age to come forward and give the police the information they need to bring the KILLER to justice and more people need to be calling for the killer to be caught. If that person would come forward and just tell what they know. LET'S FIND HIS KILLER!!!! FOR HIS DAUGHTER!!!!!!

I AM SO ANGRY AT THE LOSS OF A YOUNG MAN LIFE,I HAVE MY THOUGHTS ON WHAT REALLY HAPPENED BUT THIS IS NOT THE PLACE.AS A MAN I HAVE CRIED EVER SINCE I HEARD THE NEWS OF HIS PASSING AND I JUST CANT GET THIS SADDNESS AWAY FROM FROM MY HEART.AS A FAN WE ARE NOT GIVING THE PRIVELGE TO ENTER INTO THE DEEPER END OF A HUMANBEINGS LIFE,ALL WE HAVE TO GO ON IS WHAT WE SEE ON THE FOOTBALL FIELD.I SAW PASSION,I SAW COMMITMENT,I SAW A YOUNG PROFESSIONAL MAN GROWING AS A MAN.IM A MIAMI GRAD OF THE CLASS OF 1986 AND I HAVE SEEN ALOT OF GREAT PLAYERS,BUT NEVER IN MY LIFE HAVE I EVER SEEN A MAN WITH A BIGGER HEART THAN SEAN TAYLOR.REST IN PEACE SEAN.

The City of Miami could not rest until Sean Taylor was stripped of his firearm. On the night he was cowardly and senselessly attacked, my GOD, in lieu of a machete, he needed his "gat."
